Top 10 Fictional Places I Would Live in (or Visit)

Happy Tuesday, my lovely readers! I couldn't pass up talking about all of the bookish places in which I'd love to live, so welcome to my Top 10 Tuesday post.

There have been countless times that I've wished I could jump into a book, into a fictional place, and never look back. I'm sure we've ALL felt that way, amiright? Well off the top of my head, these are top ten places that've given me hardcore fictional wanderlust.

There was a word from a myth: sathaz. It was the desire to possess that which can never be yours. It meant senseless, hopeless yearning, the way a gutter child might dream of being king, and it came from the tale of the man who loved the moon.

Top 10 Fictional Places I Would Live in (or Visit)

1 Velaris, A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas ⌁ I would give my left kidney to be able to live in the Night Court, in the City of Starlight. I would love to experience Starfall, and walk along the Sidra River and admire the white marble buildings, walk in the Rainbow of Velaris, eat at the restaurants and dance all night at Rita's! 😍
2 Hogwarts, Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling ⌁ I know this is pretty predictable, but... who wouldn't want to live in a world of magic? Hogwarts is everyone's dream, I think. I would love to attend a Quidditch match down at the pitch, get lost in the castle as all of the staircases change on me, talk with the pictures on the walls, and uncover all of the secrets of the castle. Heck, I'd even brave the Forbidden Forest and get whomped by the Willow! 🤣
3 Lunathion, Crescent City series by Sarah J. Maas ⌁ Miss Maas has a way of creating amazing worlds that make me want to flee my own. 😅 I want to walk the streets of this circular, modern city, and be best friends with Bryce Quinlan.
4 City of Weep, Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor ⌁ Though the city of Weep has a tragic backstory, it would be amazing to walk through the streets of it like Lazlo does in his dreams! I could never get enough of the strangeness and beauty of it.
5 Milky Way, Aurora Cycle series by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman ⌁ Okay, so I know I already live in the Milky Way, BUT let's take it to the year 2380 where I could basically live in space and travel to different worlds, and explore the World Ship and narrowly escape being the Great Ultrasaur of Abraaxis IV's next meal.
6 Ziran, A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown ⌁ Ziran, with its rich West African culture, would be quite the sight to behold. And the Solstasia festival is something I would looove to see in person! There's also an underground city that I would kill to explore, ngl.
7 Austermeer, Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson ⌁ The LIBRARIES, need I explain myself? The books talk to you. I would probably never leave.
8 Multiverses from the Firebird trilogy by Claudia Gray ⌁ These next two answers may be long-stretches of "worlds I'd like to visit"... but how cool would it be to explore parallel universes of the world you live in? It would be fascinating, for sure.
9 Doors from The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow ⌁ Like I said, this may be a long stretch... but to explore Doors to other worlds? That would be so amazing! My travels would literally be infinite (and for someone who hasn't traveled a whole lot yet, that is something I am dying for!)
10 Caraval, Caraval series by Stephanie Garber ⌁ I would just love to play a game of Caraval; I don't need to win, just to experience it!
